If you send us a completed Registration Form you are accepting the terms on which the Contact Expats Service operates set out in these conditions of business. Please read the conditions of business carefully and do not proceed unless you understand and accept them.

1. Registration

1.1 To use the Contact Expats Service you must register with Contact Expats as a Member.

1.2 To register with Contact Expats please complete the Registration Form on this Website and submit it to us.

1.3 We will notify you by email when your application is accepted.

1.4 By sending the Registration Form you are warranting to Contact Expats that:

1.5. all the information on the Registration Form is true, accurate and complete as at the date it is given;

1.5.1 you will comply with the conditions of membership set out in these conditions of business as varied from time to time; and

1.5.2 you are over 18.

2. Payment

2.1 The Contact Expats Service is free of charge.

2.2 We notify you of any changes to the membership fee from time to time by e-mail at least one month before.

3. Members

3.1 Members may browse the Contact Expats Service like any visitor to this Website and in addition are entitled to:

3.1.1 post their name and some other details onto the Contact Expats Service;

3.1.2 add up to four different locations to the 'Your Profile' box onto the Contact Expats Service;

3.1.3 search our international directory for fellow expats worldwide; and

3.1.4 receive emails from other Members;

3.1.5 send emails to other Members.

4. Contact Expats  Service

4.1 By maintaining your registration you are agreeing:

4.1.1 to notify us of any changes in the information on your Registration Form;

4.1.2 to use the Contact Expats Service in good faith for the purpose of contacting other Members for social purposes;

4.1.3 not to upload, post, publish on the Website or send to any other user of the service any content that is or is capable of being unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, offensive, obscene, pornographic, tortuous, defamatory, vulgar, libellous, misleading, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable;

4.1.4 not to abuse any contact you make with any other users of the service or to continue to contact them if requested not to;

4.1.5 not to disclose any information you obtain about other users of the service without their consent;

4.1.6 not to harm minors in any way;

4.1.7 not to impersonate any person or entity, falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity or disguise the origin of any content;

4.1.8 not to place material on, or otherwise use, the Contact Expats Service for any business or commercial purpose;

4.1.9 not to use your access to the Contact Expats Service, or information gathered from it, for the sending of unsolicited bulk email (sometimes known as spam);

4.1.10 not to include an email address, postal address, phone number, the address of any web site, or any other information which is intended to facilitate direct communication, in material which is posted on the Contact Expats Service, notwithstanding that Members and the recipients of their emails, can share this information, should they wish, once direct contact has been made;

4.1.11 not to 'stalk' or otherwise harass other users of the service.

4.2 In providing the Contact Expats Service we are:

4.2.1 relying on the information provided by the users of the service and cannot be responsible for any inaccuracies in information provided to us;

4.2.2 not responsible for messages left on your mailbox or subsequent contacts with other users of the service;

4.2.3 not responsible for the behaviour of other users of the service.

4.3 You acknowledge that we do not pre-screen content but that we shall have the right (though not the obligation) in our sole discretion to move, modify or remove any content that is available on our site generally.

4.4 We reserve the right to:

4.4.1 alter the Website from time to time;

4.4.2 remove messages left in your mailbox.

5. Termination

5.1 Your registration will be active from whenever we notify you by e-mail that your registration has been accepted until it is deactivated by either of us.

5.2 You may deactivate your registration by completing the form on this Website at any time. Deactivation will take place within 30 days following receipt of your form.

5.3 If you wish to reactivate your registration you may do so at any time by completing a new Registration Form.

5.4 We reserve the right to deactivate your registration at any time. We will send you an e-mail if your registration is deactivated. Deactivation will take place immediately if we consider any of the information supplied by you is inaccurate or you break the terms of these conditions of business.

5.5 You have a legal right to cancel your registration if you notify Contact Expats that you wish to do so within seven working days from when Contact Expats notifies you your registration has been accepted.

6. Privacy Policy

6.1 Contact Expats Privacy Policy forms part of this Agreement.

6.2 Registration Data and certain other information about you is subject to our Privacy Policy. For more information, see our full privacy policy at http://www.contactexpats.com/privacy.htm .

7. Data Protection

7.1 We will not disclose any contact information you send to us to any third party except as party of the Contact Expats Service. All initial contacts between Members must be made through the mailbox on the Website.

7.2 We may access any messages posted by you to ensure compliance with these conditions of business.

7.3 We will delete all information about you within one month of your registration ceasing to be active.

8. Liability

8.1 The information on users of the Contact Expats Service is provided from the information supplied to us but no independent checking is carried out. We cannot be responsible for any errors in information provided by you or other users of the Contact Expats Service.

8.2 We are not and cannot be responsible for the behaviour of Members, whether within the Contact Expats Service or outside of it.

8.3 You agree that we are not responsible for any loss or damage incurred as a result of:

8.3.1 use of this Website;

8.3.2 the availability or non-availability of any third party on or through this Website;

8.3.3 any dealings with third parties contacted by you or who contacts you through this Website.

8.4 We do not guarantee that access to this Website will be uninterrupted, timely or error free.

8.5 You agree to indemnify and hold harmless from and against any direct or indirect loss or damage (including consequential loss and loss of profits, goodwill or business opportunities) arising from any third party claim in relation to any content you upload, post or email on or through this Website, your use of this Website, or your breach of the provisions of these conditions.

8.6 You acknowledge that we are not responsible for the availability or content of any third party websites you may access through this Website.

8.7 Neither of us will be liable for any breach of these conditions of business due to any cause beyond their reasonable control.

8.8 We will not be liable to you or any third party for any indirect or consequential loss of any kind including, without limitation, loss of data, profit, revenue or business, howsoever caused

8.9 The total liability of Contact Expats for any claim in contract, negligence, tort or other legal liability shall not in any circumstances exceed the amount equal to the sums paid by you to us by way of Membership fees during the preceding twelve months.

9. Sanctions

9.1 As soon as we are made aware of activities that breach these conditions or our privacy policy, prompt action will be taken. If you witness such breaches on the Website or anywhere else in our site, please notify us by email or at the address provided in clause 12.1 immediately.

9.2 On being made aware of any such breaches, we may ban, delete or prohibit any content that relates to those breaches or that we judge harmful to individuals or any other affiliates, licensors or partners.

9.3 We reserve the right to take whatever action we deem necessary to prevent such breaches including the following:

9.3.1 breaches we deem minor may result simply in receipt of a warning from us or we may suspend your access to the Contact Expats Service; or

9.3.2 breaches we deem serious may result in your automatic ban from the Website and termination of your membership.

All incidents will be logged and our decision is final in all such cases. Any person whose access has been suspended or terminated must not re-register for, or re-access, the Contact Expats Service without our prior consent.

9.4 Any breaches may lead to us reporting your activities to your internet service provider, your employer, relevant authorities, or to legal action being taken against you, or both.

9.5 In addition we may at any time move, modify or remove any content or take further legal action as a result of breaches or suspected breaches of these rules, our privacy policy, any applicable laws or regulations or where our rights or third party rights are threatened or infringed.

10. Changes to the terms and conditions

10.1 Contact Expats reserves the right to change the terms, conditions, and notices under which it offers the Contact Expats Service, including any charges associated with the use of the Contact Expats Service. You are responsible for regularly reviewing these terms, conditions and notices, and any additional terms posted on our Website.

10.2 Any changes to the operative terms and conditions which are capable of adversely affecting you will take effect four weeks after the date of posting (or such later date as Contact Expats indicates).

10.3 Any changes to non-operative terms and conditions or those terms and conditions which are not capable of adversely affecting you will take effect immediately upon the date of posting.

10.4 Your continued use of the Contact Expats Service after the effective date of such changes constitutes your acceptance of and agreement to such changes.

10.5 If you do not wish to be governed by the new terms and conditions, you must notify us on or before the effective date, and from that date you must cease to use the Contact Expats Service.

11. Operation of and additional services

11.1 Contact Expats reserves the right to withdraw or modify any aspect of the Contact Expats Service where we have legal or technical reasons to do so.

11.2 For security or other reasons, we may require you to change your password or other information that facilitates access to the Contact Expats Service.

11.3 Contact Expats or its affiliates may offer new or additional services from time to time. Your use of those services may be subject to additional term and conditions which you must comply with.

11.4 We may add new or ancillary services from time to time that require the payment of fees, either to a third party or us on terms that will be provided to you.

12. General

12.2 Copyright in the contents of this Website is licensed to Contact Expats by John Hogg. The copying or incorporation of all or any part of the material available on this Website is prohibited although you may print or download extracts from the material for your personal use.

12.3 This Agreement and the Contact Expats Privacy Policy constitute the entire Agreement and understanding between the parties with respect to all matters that are referred to.

12.4 A person who is not a party to this Agreement has no right under the Contracts (Right of Third Parties) Act 1999 to enforce any term of this Agreement but this does not affect any right or remedy of the third party which exists or is available apart from that act.

12.5 In the event that any term is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remainder shall remain valid and enforceable.

12.6 Any agreement between us is subject to the laws of England and Wales and the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales .

12.7 We reserve the right to assign this Agreement, and to assign any or all of our rights and obligations under this Agreement. You may not without the written consent of Contact Expats assign or dispose of this Agreement.

13. Legal Effect

13.1 Sending a completed Registration Form to Contact Expats will form a legally binding contract incorporating these conditions of business between Expats Limited and yourself.

13.2 Contact Expats is the trading name of Expats Limited a company incorporated in England and Wales , company number 5166541, whose registered office is at Suite 25 , 6-8 York Place , Leeds , LS1 2DS . United Kingdom.
